I HAVE never met Kevin Rudd.
But judging from his public performances I would say he is an extremely eloquent and intelligent man but short on patience, which would not endear him to his contempories who mostly appear to have many shortcomings (on both sides of Parliament).
He is very much like Keating, only more personable. I happen to like both of them very much and I sincerely hope Rudd wins.
If Australia gets Abbott as prime minister we will all pay dearly.
Please remember 30 years ago Abbott was the man who suggested anyone living in the eastern states who was on the dole should be forcibly removed to the mines in Western Australia.
When he was minister for health all he could offer were cuts to basic health needs.
I feel sorry for Julia Gillard but I also feel that it was not the time for her to take on the role she did.
Hopefully there will be another female prime minister without all the unnecessary carping that Julia Gillard had to put up with.
